About the Foundation

Executive Summary - T. Gunny Harboe Excerpted with permission
When discussing a creative genius such as Frank Lloyd Wright, who designed and built hundreds of buildings in his seventy-year career, it is hard to isolate one work as his greatest achievement. However, a strong argument could be made that it would be Unity Temple. Designed early in Wright’s career (1905) it was a unique manifestation of his developing ideas about space that he had been exploring primarily through his houses.

Wright himself considered it to be one of his greatest achievements. It was truly revolutionary. He changed the way architects thought about space forever. The influence of Unity Temple on the entire movement of modern architecture cannot be underestimated.
